Yes, it's usually better to take the 2 first because you should be coming off a 10 or 34 hour break with a fresh clock. The only time I'd start with an 8 would be if I was flipping my schedule from night to day or vice versa.

8 or more in the sleeper extends the 14 by 8 hours or maybe more if you take more than 8 in the sleeper. Haven't played that scenario, but I have taken 8 back to back when necessary for timing.
The split helps to switch from night to day or vice versa to gain some flexibility. -
As soon as you've exceeded 8 hours in the sleeper, the 14 resumes ticking down--If the driver were picking up 7:45 at the 8 hours sleeper mark, at 8:01 the 14 will show 7:44 for example.
Running the 8/2 or split, I try not to do it unless I am prepared to run super efficient, exact 8's and exact 2's pretty much. That is unless I am at a customer say and just trying to gain whatever legal hours as quickly as possible to leave their property. -

Now the 11 would be static coming out of the 8 hour Sleeper (for a while) depending on the 14 hour clock having more time than the 11. and the 8 hour clock would also be static coming out of the 8 hour sleeper depending on the same thing. But the 14 ticks down incessantly from the time it starts til the time it ends, the only thing that pauses/freezes it is that 8 hours in the Sleeper and only for that exact moment from 07:59 to 08:00 the 14 hour clock was completely suspended and continues ticking down immediately after.
