Alcohol is a no no in a big truck. And there you are.

In my day before the CDL laws created in 1994 we routinely used a 6 pack in a slow sipping manner on bad roads to ease the pain and to partly nourish so you don't need lunch break.

Today's laws if you took a mouthwash with alcohol in it to clean mouth you can literally end up blowing a decimal number prohibiting you from driving a semi period.

Yes the Emergency Brake Switch in 1970s cars. Little known lost fact from the olden days.... a carryover from the old oxen drawn prairie schooners which had that little emergency brake switch on the floor board under the steering reins.

 

Which switch? The only switch I see is that silver one (which he didn't push), and that's for the high beams. The pedal he pushed (to the left of the high beam switch) was for the parking brake, which wouldn't have done a darn thing to stop him quicker considering he already had full application of the service brakes (hell, he was pushing on THAT with both feet).

 

You're right he hit the foot emergency brake
