I was in the middle of making a delivery at the Outback Steakhouse in Traverse City Mi, beautiful day just like it was in NYC. Was looking forward to getting home and enjoying some late season beach time.
Sat there at Outback for about three hours agape at the coverage. Just silence and sadness. What a day. -
Sorry but that is 100% on topic of what happened.

Nope, question was:
Not why, who, nor anything else. Doesn't ask for opinions or conjecture. A simple truth of what YOU were doing.88 Alpha, driverdriver, 25(2)+2 and 1 other person Thank this. -
I had just finished up divorce number 2 then and that morning I woke up with a very high quality hangover in the home of some honky tonk special that took pity on me .
She had gone to work and all I knew was I was somewhere in Omaha , called a buddy to pick me up and we spent a couple hours looking for my car ...then we called in to work sick and went back to my house and got drunk again lolSteel Tiger, snowwy, Lepton1 and 1 other person Thank this. -
I was 7 years old (sorry guys for making ya'll feel old!
). I was living in San Diego CA at time with my uncle Jack (who is actually a family friend) who was stationed at Camp Pendelton in the Marine Corps. I remember getting up and dressed for the day, and Jack had CNN on watching the coverage in New York. We both saw the second plane hit. I didn't understand what it meant at the time because I was 7. But I do remember Jack being pissed off and sad.
He was trying to get ahold of my father who was (and still is an airline pilot) and make sure he was okay. Luckily, Dad was delayed due to maintenance at DFW when the planes went down and then they called a ground stop nation wide (no take offs, and everyone lands speedy quick!). Got to talk to Dad that afternoon. Still went to school that day (was late). I remember school being weird like no one wanted to be there. The teachers tried to tell us what happened. Doubt anyone really understood.
Horrible day.

Was getting ready for work. Turned on news. Showed the smoke billowing out of the first tower. The news said they thought it was a smaller plane.

I want to thank everyone for sharing your memories of that day. Though it was only 15 years ago today, soon it will be 25 years ago, 50 years ago and 75 years ago and most of us who were living witness during this trying time will be dead and gone. It is extremely important to preserve and share your memories in documentation writing and videos for the future generations.
When I was in the 6th grade we studied about the JFK assassination, it had been 16 years hence. For a young kid, it might as well have been in the last century. As you look around in your life there are fewer and fewer people alive who remember what they were doing the day JFK was assassinated.
I also wanted to support @Steel Tiger , that this thread should be about your personal memories of that day, not your political beliefs today. Thank you88 Alpha, snowwy, Steel Tiger and 2 others Thank this. -
I was on the west coast in Portland so by the time I caught wind of it most of the live action was already over and it was news reruns all day. I was a 20 year old college student at the time.

I was at home with the day off. Spent the day on MSN Chat, reading the chaos in chat rooms. Lots of foreign people using early translation programs and conspiracy nutjobs combined made it really bizarre.
Steel Tiger and texasbbqbest Thank this.
