Have a dash cam in my auto. When I plug in my dash cam the stock radio get a ton of interference making the radio not useable. Have to listen to CD's. I use the cigarette lighter for power. I have tried wiring right to the fuse box but get the same results. Engine does not change the noise.

You mean the stereo i assume and not the cb??
I have almost same issue but with cb rather than stereo..Even my stereo has a pulseing sound that my cb picks up and drives me nuts...Dont matter if its the cd/usb/sirius but that #### pulse happens...Thats reminds me,gotta shoot off a letter to kenwood..

In my semi, I had a winning sounds when I use the radio. Eventually it got annoying and I was going crazy. I had dash cam, gps and xm radio plug it. If I unplug it all, the noise goes away.

PAC SNI-1/3.5 3.5-mm Ground Loop Noise Isolator Works with iPod/Zune/iRiver and Others https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001EAQTRI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_581ZxbCG74B41

After researching I figure it was a bad ground somewhere and this item help eliminate 99% of the whining

Stereo unit. In the car so no CB in there. Very distinct static as soon as you hook up dash cam.

There’s no reason a dash cam should interfere with your AM, FM, or Satellite radio.

I wouldn’t waste time tiring to find a way to suppress the noise it is making. Its defective and you should exchange it for another one or return it and get different brand or model.

If you do want to pursue suppressing the noise it, listing the make and model of the camera you have would be a good idea along with what band (AM/FM/Satellite) you are hearing the interference on.

Agreed, I'd be pointing to a ground issue or low grade power supply for the camera.

What happens if you use a different charger for the dash cam?

I had an issue with the power cord that came with my KDLinks X1. I put a split bead right at the cigarette adapter and my noise went away. But it was BAD. it would kill AM and FM signal.

Alot of the powersupplies are terrible noise makers. The cheap 12v usb hubs at gas stations are the worst
