I bought a 2011 peterbilt with a cummins from select trucks Cleveland and took it to my local cummins dealer for preventative maintenance and found out the motor was bad it had 2 bad cams egr cooler leaking the Turbo was starting to leak oil internally and they found the main bearings to be bad from the cams going bad then I called the dealer and corporate select trucks they both told me it was my problem now what a horrible experience avoid select trucks at all costs

Should have had it inspected first.

Welcome op!! I see you're new here and by your post also new in trucking! Well, there's nothing you can do now, maybe sell it at a loss or try to fix it up. But I suggest next time, get it inspected and get an oil sample.
This is a big purchase, you don't buy a house without going inside to take a look right!? Then u shouldnt buy a truck without taking a look -
It was all internal damage unable to see or detect until they pulled the valve cover to run the rack on it
-
Are you in a situation where you can trade it off?

Holy ####

An oil sample would have shown it. 20 bucks.Pete jockey and blairandgretchen Thank this.

Trade it in; tell whoever the truck isn't spec'd right for you. You need a lighter weight or a mid roof or different transmission or whatever you can come up with.
Bakerman Thanks this. -
Yeah do that so the next owner operator can buy if and get fked and lose all his money trying to fix it. You should be ashamed in not even thinking about the next guy that buys that truck possibly fulfilling a dream of owning a truck to provide for his family.
This guy either needs to fix it or disclose the issues and sell it at a loss. That's trucking you will make and lose money unfortunately it happened sooner than later to this guy before he could get a nice cushion of money built up. Good luck to you and do the right thing whatever that may be for you. -
The next guy should have it properly inspected before signing the papers and let the truck dealership take the hit.
