Let me ask this question.
At the companies where the drivers don't have to buy their own jacks, are the drivers allowed to lock them up?
R&L how good is it?

Bob Dobalina Thanks this.

I know Reddaway doesn't require anyone to buy a pallet jack but guys put a lock on them mainly because they seem to grow legs and walk off. Terminals never have any extras either from what I've noticed.
Giuseppe Ventolucci Thanks this. -
R+L drivers do lock theirs up at the end of the day, BTW.

Hey for R&L, are you sure it's free stay at those company resorts?? I thought they just offered drastically discounted prices for their employees. -
I have a friend that works for them, and he told me the resorts are free.
Giuseppe Ventolucci, Bob Dobalina and lcfd15 Thank this. -

when I worked at us foods you were issued a 2-wheeler you chained it up if they needed a 2-wheeler on your day off -- wala out came the bolt cutters and it walked away never to be seen again unless some one drove over it and left it by the mechanics garage or by scrap pile pallet jacks 1st come 1st served if your late your out of luck

Went to the interview earlier today. The guy is in charge of two terminals. He's replacing a lot of drivers because "they're not good drivers". He mentioned the TM at the Oakland yard fired himself and now he's trying to find more drivers there as well.
The pay is slightly better than Reddaway, he says as a line driver I would be making $21. and some cents. I would be driving from Benicia to Sacramento (one hour distance), stay in Sac Town for 6 hours and do 6 hours of dock work with a forklift and then come back to Benicia.
He says he likes the idea that I already have experience as a P&D guy, that way if sh!tt hits the fan I could be placed doing deliveries as a P&D driver.
Bottom line is I'm NOT sold. Ima wait 3 more months where I am and see how it goes once I hit top payspeedyk Thanks this.
