You should be checking to see that what you thought was going to happen actually happened. Mercer is good but the girls in truck pay are human and humans make mistakes.

Good point, and if a mistake was made it will be promptly fixed. At times you may have to go back to the source, and talk to the agent

Truck pay can only work with the info they are given. Read those settlements. Make sure the agent gives Truck pay the Dollar amount you were quoted.

Some agents are real good at this and some seem to be a little sloppy with the info truck pay gets. It's up to you to read the settlement

Drank the Mercer cool aid. Headed east this week should be at orientation next Monday.
Nervous about giving up my authority but tired of doing it all as a one man show.

You know both sides. You will know quicker than most if it's good.

    Can you suspend it?

No on suspending it but the customers I had and brokers I work for told me if it don't work out a new D.O.T number won't bother them.
Most lost 30% of their business this last year and understand.
Mercer was one of my best customers so I think it will be fine

I never had my own numbers. I have talked to a handful here, in person, that have. They said Mercer is easier.

I Just get tired of all the paperwork and paying all the taxes and fees. The way rates are right now I don't see a downside in paying the 25%
When things pick back up (optimism) I might go back to my own authority.
It'll be nice to go home and just work on the truck if needed and relax.
Might even be able to go fishing or something!

I dropped Tuesday the 6th, after sitting at home for the weekend. Took 13 days off, I'll start tomorrow again. No one bugged me. I worked 8 weeks straight and moved 19,400 to my checking. I took money to live off of, fuel of course and some nights in a hotel/motel room. I'm not complaining.

    Momma complains when I'm home.
She knows if the wheels aren't turning she can't buy new shoes.
I unloaded the 10th. Did billing and logs Sunday. I had a power steering box leak I wanted to fix. The whole box had to come apart to replace one oring started on it Monday fixed a few other things. ready to Roll Wednesday afternoon.
Load boards and customers had nothing headed toward Mercer town everything going north south out of California.
Found a load of pipe to Phoenix unloads tomorrow booked two partials one to Milton Florida other to Jacksonville.
    Deadhead from there.

The winter rates are less of course. I bought tires and did an oil change, the climate control blower went out too for $98. Paid for that on my credit card. I'm normally paid in 4 to 6 hours. It's easy in my opinion. I would think you would not make as much , but you will work 60% as hard to clear 80% of what you did.

You can always go back if it's not good enough. Any way good luck of course. I'm fully aware it's your lively hood that's at stake. :)
