I am. Gilbert transferred to El Paso, one of the Laredo planners is now terminal manager, a fleet manager took the planning spot, and Erasmo is now one of the Laredo fleet managers.

Last to know! Just talked to Erasmo and I also have a new DM to train, Irma, my 7th in less than 5 years. I only fired one. Two quit, the rest were promoted.

The best part is that Gilbert's gone. He did nothing but turn Laredo into a toxic workplace for the office people and went out of his way to disrespect the drivers.

I thought female drivers were supposed to be better than males.
Isn't that what the insurance companies tell us?

Dang. And with what appears to be 40acres avalible to manuver.

Is it really a "close encounter" when one actually gets hit?

As for the female drivers,, who knows. A cursory glance at research data suggests I would have to spend hours reading to figure out which is better and at what. And my paper writing days are over. I dug up equal amounts of conflicting scholastic articles in a few minutes.

However I would be fascinated, the next time I run into a safety officer to see what the companies data indicates. There a few in the safety Dept that are happy to tell everything they know.

How do you judge the male female driver thing? # of times pulled over, tickets, accidents? combined? I have the better record then Steve, but I am the wilder driver, but he also has 20 years on me so maybe my record can change? I think it has more to do with personality, knowledge and distraction level. Beginner drivers are more likely to make mistakes then drivers who have been around longer.

I would think just the opposite, women being better drivers on the average because they have their ego in check always and none of that pesky testosterone turning their eyes red with rage like a bull who has a red towel waved in front of him.

Grand Island, NE at the TA.

I finally got my load home. I deliver tomorrow in Lakeville, MN, which is about 10 miles from home in Burnsville.

The load didn't come with a home time message so I called my DM to set my home time PTA.
He kept trying to reduce the time home... his way of fun with me. But for every reduction of an hour I added an hour. We finally agreed on the time I wanted in the first place. I knew that would happen.
I'm sure he did too. He knows I never come back from home time before 1000 - and usually 1200, because I won't wake up early on my last morning at home.

I had a nice surprise when I picked this trailer up - an air leak. Not a new one either. The connection for the red line just forward of the tandems was a bit loose.
The Denver terminal was only a mile away, and they had me back on the road in about an hour. They put me ahead of the truck that was already in line, possibly because I was under dispatch. But they fixed it very quickly.

I've heard bad stories about the Denver terminal, but I have always had a very good experience with them.
