fellow driver is attempting to mount a standard TV but having a hard time finding a TV that matches the mounting bracket for a flat screen ...
I measured the one in my Volvo and looks to be a 100x150 mm VESA mount but he is being told the standard VESA mount for small tvs is a 24x24mm pattern.
So, does he need to drill holes to make it work??? Seems odd that Volvo would give a mount for a flat screen but not use the standard holes needed or allow for a few different patterns by having multiple holes in the mounting bracket.
So, how does one mount a flat screen tv???
Thanks,
MD

In my Volvo the plate has 2 different holes to mount different size TV's. I put a 22 inch flat screen in and works great
KB3MMX and MidWest_MacDaddy Thank this. -
Metric sucks. Would it work if you measured in Standard? LOL! Just kid'n.Cottonmouth85 Thanks this.

I did ... LOL ... and then converted it to the VESA standard with is in mm...

Oh wait, brain dead here while on vacation from the truck... I see what you did there, now.

I've got my 24" flat screen mounted as we speak.
Sounds like he's missing the actual mounting bracket.
The mounting bracket that bolts to the TV is a separate piece.
You attach the TV to the bracket, secure the 4 straps to the bracket and put the loops over the corners of the TV and tighten them down.
Then you attach that bracket to the swing arm mounted in the cabinet.

VESA mounting holes are square regardless of TV size. I think you're measuring the swing arm bracket that mounts the TV bracket. -
That's it... must be missing that extra mounting equipment on the tv side. Thanks. I'll pass it along and now I know as well should I ever opt to bring in a bigger screen... for now, my iPhone and iPad are enough for me.
Again, thanks.beckdg Thanks this. -
There's always the redneck way--
MidWest_MacDaddy Thanks this. -
Do you have a link for this TV bracket? The current mount I'm using doesn't hold up to NYC potholes. The entire back of my Samsung TV has broken off. Having a bracket that not only holds from the screws but also grips around to the front would solve my problem.

The add on corner holders in the pic are part of the factory mount, not sure who makes it but if you truck has the factory TV mount they should be in it somewhere in a bag
