While that is true if i buy a truck where payments are only 1300 a month with only 300,000 miles that might bring my maint cpm down a lot. Some of them have warranty on engine untill 500k miles and Transmission and rears for 750,000
Its a lot of my plate to be honest i've thought about just quiting Mercer and going local and keeping the truck parked and make my payments on it lol..

I'm sure you will figure out what's best for you Pete. I was in a similar situation my old KW was constantly breaking down on me so I ran my numbers and decided that a brand new truck would work even with rates where they currently are.

I agree. I really thought hard about going to a 2014. Payments would've been about $1600 a month. But I've decided to bite the bullet & get a new truck so I know it's history. I don't like the higher payment but I know I can make it & I like the piece of mind I get having the new truck. I'm not as worried/concerned about the emissions that most people are. It's a tough decision & only you know your situation.

I will tell you this, Razor has a new truck & he does good at Mercer. My payments are a tad higher than his & I do fine hauling for less than Mercer rates. I have a lot of bills at home & I'm the only source of income. So a new truck isn't that bad.

That moment a customer tells you to tarp roofing rolls when we haul without tarp. Let alone they are wet as hell full of water lol

After checking with freightliner I decided to just lease another one but I plan on buying this one. I'm getting this truck for cheaper than what freightliner wanted & my payments are about the same as if I financed it though freightliner.

It uses a gps within the Keller device, NOT the gps from within a phone or tablet. Many times if you lose the data signal and input a location manually it will be changed to what the Keller device's geocoded location is once data service is restored. I have been working with these from the beginning and it does makes errors. I have had many locations that were wrong and could not be changed by the driver - "This is a geocoded location and cannot be changed" yet the location can be more than 100 miles off. They are not 100% accurate as several of us have documented many times.

Also if you go to Canada you could run up huge charges for data use if you leave you data turned on across (or even near) the border. So a Keller device then requires manual input for each duty status change which gets to be a real pain.

Dang. Sounds like a big pain. Might be worth the money to get the Qualcomm which I like better. Idk

Im fairly certain mine requires my phones data for gps. Newer sprint devices can not access data at the same time as cellular and if I'm on the phone when i make a duty change it will not automatically list the location.
