Fairings

    okay, I see a lot of drivers out there with the side skirts missing and they do not have polished tanks... What is he point of this polished tanks or not

    Don't understand what you're saying...

    But side fairing is an option, some people like them, some don't and just have steps and that's it, u can see the fuel tanks

    There's only one purpose for the fairings and it's not aesthetic. It's for fuel economy.

    Skirts are for girls. And for the record, skirts off is the only way to roll.

    I don't bother myself with the details really. The skirts are there for fuel savings. That's all they are good for. Now polished fuel tanks..it shows me that whoever did that work has a love for the rig. I myself prefer matte.

    And that's about it really. There is nothing here to get into really.

    On today's roads, carriers should offer a $20 bonus to any/all drivers who can drive from one coast to the other coast without losing any part of the side skirt system. I can remember a time it was unusual to see a Volvo that did not have a missing or loose, flapping skirt panel.

    That could be what OP is referring to. Those do tend to get forcibly removed by some drivers.
