I know there's a Poly thread but I don't know those guys.
Is Poly still the place to be from and not go to? I'm being used as a pawn in a power struggle between the dispatcher and a driver/dispatcher. The dispatcher is the supervisor but the driver dispatches us in the Dallas area. It's got me to looking around. I really need to be local because my folks are needing more and more help but are nowhere near assisted living. Is Poly turning the corner or is their trucking heading downhill still?

I looked at the Poly thread the other day...they may as well lock that one down it's so dead.
As far as working there on local, I couldn't be much help. I was a road driver. Road drivers and local drivers are dispatched and paid differently. Local drivers are hourly, and just toss the paperwork in the office window, the road drivers are per mile and they have to fill out trip sheets in order to get paid. They were having issues keeping local drivers when I was there. Not sure what the reason was. -
Well people don't leave unless there's a reason so I suspect it's not good. I know I could probably swing the 14 out 9 off if people are still able o make that work. I'm spoiled sleeping in my own bed every night though!

I always thought I'd end up at Poly, I liked their 8,000 mile a month minimum and the hometime deal.

About 3 weeks ago Duane died, about 3 weeks ago the length of my loads plummeted.
It can't be a coincidence,
Beings he was 85, I'm ok with them unplugging him, I'm sure he probably agreed.
BUT my question is,
How did the load planners get the word to go heavy on booking short loads? -
I told the ops manager today if they want to go to short loads where drivers don't live then to pay $100 for every trip sheet turned in, I think it'd be a good incentive since they want us to run 7 loads a week.
I don't know their driver turnover but I do know the quality of human beings in the drivers lounges is plummeting.
But then the brain dead drivers don't realize how much extra work they're doing for less miles every week.
I've started logging all time at customers, trip planning, waiting for the next "preplan" . They should call it a load offer if it comes after my empty call.Astoh Thanks this. -

I've done about 8300 miles in the last 3 weeks. Not the greatest, but not throwing the towel in yet. Had some extra stops and a 34 in that time.

Hmmm? I've asked my gal about the excessive short loads, I've asked if it's the same load planner or csr giving me short loads and if so to get me to Lincoln so I can talk to them outside, she thought that was a threat...
