Certainly not trying to instigate an argument, but personally I would tend to disagree regarding the worn out part of your comment; simply because they do maintain the equipment well, repair it when necessary, and they usually liquidate it around or before 500,000 miles. There should be a lot of life left in a well-maintained 500k truck. Regarding the wrecked part, that may be true as would be the case with any fleet vehicle. They hire new drivers so the odds are certainly increased. However, my assumption is that many of those wrecks result in the need for cosmetic repairs only versus major damage.

Regarding the last portion of your comment, from what I understand, the lease purchase is not really that good of a deal. To be in their IC program, you must lease/purchase at least one truck directly from them before you can bring your own. (In other words, even if you owned a truck that met their required specs, you couldn't use it as an IC until you lease/purchase one from them.) Because of what they charge you, you end up paying significantly more for that truck than you would have paid in the open market for that same truck.

    Just my .02 cents.

Really? That suck, It was in the back of my head to buy my own truck and lease with them. According to their site, leasing their truck is a 5 year commitment?

That is my understanding, but I would suggest verifying it if you are interested. There may be exceptions, but I have heard that same thing from many different sources so it seems to be consistent. I am not sure about the commitment, although as I understand it, you can pay it off early if you choose.

One big downside I see is that you are not allowed to preview and select a particular truck from the available options. (Unless of course you have a connection that could help you out somehow.) I just can't see making that type of an investment without some freedom to choose.

Just my opinion, I've been with them for a while now, usually the last 100k miles are the worse, in and out of the shop a few times every month. Constant a/c/heat problems, air leaks. First time my buddy had to do with his was replace the bunk a/c from $6k. That was within the first 3 weeks of signing in

Not necessarily. Many of the '12s that have been sold this year had close to or in excess of 500k.

I get to worry when they approach the 600K-800K

Ive driven a number with a million plus on them and frankly it's a wonder how they keep people tossing tools and parts on them to keep em rolling. I guess a new Alternator is less than a revenue load pay.
