So I requested home time about 3 weeks ago. I live in Dallas.
I requested to be home 12 might on the 21. So basically Friday morning.

I am in Tulsa, OK, which is 4 hours North of Dallas. I have a delivery in Tulsa tomorrow morning at 7.

So they send me a load, that picks up in Arkansas, then drops off in a city by San Antonio, which is 4 hours south of Dallas.

I decline it for the reason "Home time"

So one dispatcher messages me like 2 hours later saying "pre plans gets you down south for home time"

Im looking like "wtf?" do they think all texas cities are right by each other, like how hard is it to get a load going into Dallas, thats only 4 hours away?

I respond saying "I am currently 4 hours north of Dallas, pre plan has me picking up in Arkansas then dropping off 4 hours south of Dallas"

Its about a 650 mile trip total, and its a live load + a live unload so not only does it take me pass dallas, it also makes it to where its no way ima get home in time.

I can see if I put in a request at the last minute, but it was weeks ago

Perhaps it's as simple as giving you an extra 650 miles worth of pay b4 you take your hometime.

Last time I did something like this I wasnt able to get home for an extra week.

I mean if thats what was the purpose why couldnt he just say that instead of saying "This load gets you down south" when Dallas is only 4 hours away right now.

SA will be pretty close. They're trying, I think. They may deadhead you home.

Your hometime costs your carrier money. After all, if you are chillin' at the house, you ain't out hauling freight.

Plenty of carriers out here would prefer if the driver simply forgot where home was.

What company you work for? I never had a problem with Home time and actually got extra days off.

Had a friend living in Pensacola. He was in Houston. Travel agent got him a load to Miami for home time.

You live in Dallas. A travel agent will get you a load from Tulsa to el Paso because El Paso is in texas.
