At the IP plant in Shelbyville, IL tonight.
I got a message today and apparently a bunch of OSR's and my DBL are hosting what they call a "Safety Skills Competition Course" next week in Kenton. The Schneider naysayer in me thinks it's going to be more like an impromptu safety eval and a ton of lecturing since we've had a ton of preventables so far this year. My dispatcher totally put the hex on me by telling me I'm the only driver hired in the last 12 months that doesn't have any. Gee thanks. This new truck doesn't have the faux wood dash to knock on anymore.

Any who, has anyone done anything like this rodeo or whatever they're calling it? Maybe it'll be fun but I feel like it'll be more lecturing than anything.

Ask them what the pay and or prize is.

 

I'll have to inquire. It said there will be prizes for the top performers but I'm hoping we get training pay at least. Not sure how much time this is gonna eat up.
