So I requested home time. To be in Dallas October 21.
Yesterday while in Tulsa I get a load picking up in Arkansas n delivering in San Antonio at 9am this morning.
I declined it basically saying I need to be in Dallas not San Antonio. They insist I take it n say they will get me to Dallas right after.
Now the thing us there was a delay at the customer yesterday that made me start running on my 14.
I message my dm Asking if the San Antonio load has a window since I am running on my 14 I am told no it has to deliver at 9am and to send in a running late macro if the delay at the customer affects the pre plan. I send the macro n send one again when I wake up this morning after I do my reset. It's about 5:30 am but I'm still 341 miles away have to drive thru Dallas n Austin to get to San Antonio. So when I do get here it's 12:30, which is the eta I guesstimated in my running late macro.
I go to the reciever n he refuses the load. Saying it needed to be there by 9 and that he messaged my company at 10am telling them he won't be able to unload me if I get there at 12:30.
I called buy my dm is out today. N it's a Friday. I'm in San Antonio waiting for them to figure it out n send something to my Qualcomm. All they end up sending after like 4 hours is a message saying the load has Been rescheduled to Tuesday.
One guy called me n asked me for far I was from home, but that was it. Guess San Antonio is too far drom Dallas
What to do ?

If hometime is important to you, i suggest you find a different company to work for. There's a bunch of companies that honor hometime when it is requested and there's a bunch of companies that would like to hired more drivers.
Xzay Thanks this. -
Welcome to a mega as stated find a company that at least acts like they care.
Xzay Thanks this. -
That sucks dude, You need to use that as motivation to look elsewhere. Don't tell them you are doing it either, just do it.
Xzay Thanks this. -
Call them and tell them you want it repowered so you can go home. Don't ask, tell them!

I worked for a company once that had a problem getting me home. Had a delivery in Texas when I was supposed to be going home to Delaware. I told them if the truck crossed the Texas State line before it crossed the Delaware State line I would be heading straight to the yard once empty to turn in the keys.
They did repower it, but I was gone within a month.Puppage Thanks this. -

I know this doesn't help but most if not all of us have been there.
I had been married 4 days and went on the road
4 months later I was still on the road
(Bedbugging)
Everytime I'd get close to home (Jersey)
My boss would find yet another load he just couldn't turn down going the other way.
Finally I got a load going to Minn where the company was out of.
I turned in the keys and got a plane ticket home.
In retrospect, I should've stayed on the road.Landincoldfire and passingthru69 Thank this. -
Except in another thread he said he works for Prime.

Next time, if you need to be home on the 21st, tell them you need to be there on the 19th.
