The fact that the FMCSA does not provide a driver's score is irrelevant; the fact they provide the data the score is derived from is relevant.

See this is where the confusion comes in. Drivers are scored but not as a separate driver score if a driver has a violation noted in the inspection the violation is noted is scored and that score is weighted. BUT it is part of the carriers CSA score. Even if the driver quits or is fired that score stays with the carrier. If a driver then applies with another carrier that score is not part of that new carriers CSA score, it is only a driver history. <<Very confusing and giving me a headache and besides in the end is pointless. All a driver needs to do to avoid CSA is to run legal. I think there is a game on tonight. Bye

So they seen the ABS light on and gave you an inspection? They didn't write you up for that did they? or was it because the that ABS light wasn't lighting up?25(2)+2 Thanks this.

So in other words, if a driver leaves the carrier that he got several violations with, that driver's "score" is no longer attached to that driver because his "score" is supposedly part of the carrier's CSA score?
Theoretically if I'm reading all this correctly, on that note a driver becoming unemployable based on his "PSP score" or whatever should be a moot issue.
I was wondering when we'd get to the bottom of this crap because it has a lot of drivers nervous including me, and understandably so from my POV. I want this cleared up pronto. -
Not exactly, you record will follow you, the driver, but any violations assigned to one carrier while employed there, will not follow and subsequently be. assigned to the other carrier, nor will the original carrier lose any points when the driver leaves. Once assigned to a carrier, they stay there.

I assume this means the points follow you as well?
If that's the case, the prevailing understanding would then appear to be pretty much correct, which leads me back to a question I asked on this subject a while back that went unanswered. How many of these "points" can one accrue before they're blacklisted? -
I scored a 66.7 on the quiz. I have to admit that the reason I knew some of the answers is because they are currently on my CSA.
By taking the quiz you also realize that their priorities seem kind of screwed up. -
You will recall JJKeller printed out a bunch of posters detailing the various Basics with info and points for sample violations. They even worded it such as "Your score and your carrier's score....".
So you take that with the points listed for violations, the fact JJKeller said 'your score' and we know that when we get a violation it is multiplied by 3 the first year, times 2 the second year and times 1 the third year.
So you take all this info and put it together it is easy for a driver to believe they have a score on their PSP report.
I was hit by a car in 2010, non preventable, not my fault at all. But because the car was towed and get this, there was no inspection done by anyone-- I got scored 1 point for this times 3 the first year, times 2 the second year and times 1 the third year and it still stayed on my PSP for an additional 2 years. -
