With Walmarts eLogs, it automatically switches over. You don't have to do anything except for when you go on your 30 minute break or into the sleeper.

Mack, I can't answer that. I am but a humble Walmart drivers wife. I was not there, I have not gone over the paperwork. I can, however, say this. Verizon is the only company who's records are accurate up to the minute. Some others can have a lag. This begs the question, if you know this is the case (it is widely knows and was talked about at meetings), and you keep your company anyway................ don't be surprised with what can happen. If the driver is able to prove his case, he will get his job back and be paid for the error. WM is not infallible. Nobody or no corporation is. Does it make it any less painful when something happens that is not kosher................. No. The flip side to that is that many people say things to paint themselves in a better light, when bad things happen. Whether or not this is the case with this gentleman, I don't know. How could I know. WM corporate surely isn't going to tell me.

I'm sorry I can't give you a definitive answer, but I have none to give.

For those who have not read the entire thread, you can talk on the phone while driving (hands free of course). You can talk in 10 minute intervals for a total of 60 minutes while on the drive line.

    MACK E-6 Thanks this.

Those Banners advertise DC jobs, not truck driving jobs... All logistics driving jobs are done through Bentonville, AR. main office.

Wal Mart has had thousands of drivers retire very comfortably from their fleet over the last decade. They still pay very nicely and offer a five day work week.

The new generation of drivers will make a very comfortable living but not like the old timers did. Got two friends who drive out of Sanger and two out of Palestine. They are content and satisfied. Takes a long time to get weekends off and an assigned tractor.

Another new trend with WMT is driver turnover. You will tote the company line with a tucked in shirt and you will like it. Any questions or concerns then put them in the shredder. It's an environment in it self and some people are purely solo in nature. Those folks don't do well at WMT and the hiring process saves lots of time in regards to future problems with this mindset.

This actually happens to me quite often. Not because I forgot to change the status, but because I don't want to sit at the rest area for a full five minutes to get the elog to capture the off duty status. I pull in, stop, respond to text and then leave. So yeah, I believe I am on the drive line the whole time. I couldn't make it at walmart.

Back somewhere around 2000 I actually compared gross earnings with a WM company driver. Now I had 1099 investment income but even without said income we we're only about 2K apart. WM is OK I guess, but I'm retired quite nicely and never really had to put up with a lot of that crap.

Not sure I understand what you mean by "solo in nature" and not doing well at Walmart. Are you saying you need to be a corporate cheerleader to fit in?.

Not really. If you do your job, you will rarely talk to anyone but your coordinator.

Sorry I forgot to reply. The thread bump reminded me. Good to know Wally Wife. Then I'll just fall back on my lack luster satisfaction after spending several years delivering to Wal Mart DC's. Doesn't matter how polite and professional you are, Wal Mart DC employees aren't paid enough to give a crap. Defiantly not a company that seems desirable to work for.
