Any period of at least 8 hrs and less than 10hrs in the sleeper does not count against your 14 hour clock. Doesn't matter if you ever take a 2.

(except that without the 2 or more, you don't get your 10 hours, and don't get a new day of hours)str8t10 Thanks this.

Sure...
But the clock stopping happens regardless.str8t10 Thanks this. -
While I didn't start this thread. Thank you for your insight and information about my post on split sleeper berth
-
so drivers can drive 5 hours, take 2 hours of sleeper berth and drive 6 hours again = 11 hours driving. now he can take 8 hours instead of 10 sleeper berth and start fresh day. did I get it correct or not?
-
No. In your example, he'd get 5 hours back on his 11. If he stopped for 2 hrs any time during that five hrs, his 11 would then start at the end of his 8 hr break.
Your 11/14 will always start at the end of your previous break, not your last break. -
did not get it.
I drove 5 hours, slept 2 hours, then again drove 6 hours. I can start 11/14 after 8 hour or 10 hours rest? -
Drive 5.5 take 2 hours off. Drive 5.5 (equals 11) take 8 hours sleeper. Then have 5.5 available to drive again.
See how on each side of the split break the drive time cannot exceed 11 hours. Only way to get back full 11/14 is to take a 10 or more hours break. -
ok. understood. thanks
