I'm new to hauling refers and is it just me or is it a lot slower than hauling van? Van loads you pickup and deliver one after another constantly going and I love it but with refer you pickup deliver then break, I'm getting more sleep with refer than I ever did with van. I'm hardly sitting at docks, which might be a surprise i just get a lot of d&h. I'll pickup at 12am then deliver at least 3 hrs early then run up to the shipper and go on a 10 hr break. The company I'm with is suppose to be aggressive but I'm just not seeing it. I'm getting plenty of miles and pay is great but I love driving and wondering if this is how refer always is or is it cause of the time of year and plus the election, I know this is when freight slows. Thanks

That is not the normal for reefer on the produce side. Usually you are already running late when they finally get you loaded.

Eh... you have the slows. The wonderful things you are complaining about is usually absent in reefer work.

Any monkey can do van, it's Reefers, flats and tankers that bring up the best of them.

The whole nation is slow right now. Be happy you have work at all. Actually, better rest up and sleep really good, store it for when things pick up again and dispatch gets #####y and barking again.

bzinger and Paul Bunyan Thank this.

Between jobs now. Waiting for the election to be over. If Hillary wins, I think I am inclined to pursue reefer again, if Trump wins, I might stay dry van. What do you think??

I fail to see any logic or reasoning to this thought, but I am only a dumb a-- truck driver.

Can you explain your thinking ?

    MachoCyclone Thanks this.
