I'd love to see the look on a safety managers face when the video comes on, and one of his top male drivers is rolling down the road in wig, make up, mini skirt, no panties, legs spread..... HA HA HA HA HA...
Would he want to call the "gurl" into his office? Or would he be excited about calling the gurl into his office... HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA

Tmc had a driver do something similar, they called the guy asking him if he covered the camera. He admitted that he did, then routed him to a terminal. Had him clean his things out and then fired himhrdman2luv Thanks this.

They wouldn't have had to ask me twice. I only got in that truck because it was supposed to be a temp truck, when my got hit. Turns out, they wanted to actually make it my permanent truck. When they started asking me why they couldn't see me, if something was "blocking the view", is when I quit. I told the boss that if he didn't trust me to drive his truck, he shouldn't have hired me to start with.
That's one thing that's lost in trucking, is not having a boss leaning over your shoulder all the time. To be able to go out and do your job, without someone monitoring you 24/7. That's part of what we used to know as "the freedom of the road". With these onboard camera's, even that freedom is lost.
The new people coming into trucking will never know what the "freedom of the road" is even like. They'll never know just how much they're capable of, when every moment they spend in that truck in monitored. Like laying down for the night, not being sleepy (even after 11hrs of driving) and getting back up and running until you are actually tired or sleepy.
Now they have computers to tell them they're sleepy. Or supposed to be. And when they aren't really sleepy, there's some safety schmuck there to tell them "Oh you must be so tired, you don't even know you're tired." Treating them like a bunch of McDonald burger flippers.Iron-Man and Rusty Trawler Thank this. -
