Has anybody switch from a stack exhaust to weed burner?

I am considering doing it and looking for some feed back. Would like to utilize that space where the stack takes up.

I had a 1989 Freightliner with a 12.7 Detroit with a weed burner exhaust. Left out that evening, and a after getting on I-40 heading west. When it got dark, I got o seeing smoke coming out from under the tractor. Could see it when someone was on my right side. AS i was passing them at around 80 MPH. So pulled off thinking I had issues. Turned out to only being the exhaust.
If I were buying a new tractor today. It would also not have stacks. Nice weight savings on some of them. Buddy went from twin stacks behind the cab. To a weed burner setup on his Cascadia. And when he weighted all the crap that came off the truck. He told me it was over 1000 lbs of stuff including the steel brackets to hold it all on. But you have to also take the weight of the muffler and stuff he put back on into account also.
But being he's hauling by the ton with a dump bucket. That extra 1000 lbs 5 loads per day 30 loads per week. That's an extra 15 tons per week of cargo. Thats also around $275.oo extra per week or around $14,000.oo extra per year. Not bad and goes to show you how thinking ahead can make you extra $$

We have a couple and it's nice when hauling plastic pipe. No smoke tarp!

Switching to a weed burner exhaust will cut down back pressure and allow the exhaust to flow easier, thus sometimes helping fuel econmy.

I've done it on a few 387 the muffler are expensive and the holders get rusted out over time everyone is extremely happy so far just got to put it back far enough to clear sleeper and it's perfect

Only downside I found, was dirtier rear frame/suspension. But I never did get round to directing it out the side.
