I have tested and can confirm the foam wrap air filters will gain .5 mpg.
Get OFF the cruise as much as possible, unless on flat ground.
Try a scan guage and/or monitor boost to instant mpg reading to learn more.
Did you leak test CAC?
gear box upgrade

And as said before, 13 speed is a long ROI, unless you've a busted 10.
What rear end ratio do you have? -
what is that test CAC
rear ends 3.47 -
A shop can do it for you, or buy/make a test kit.
Basically take charge air cooler (CAC) hoses(boots) off and plug. One plug has air fitting with schraeder valve in it, you put 40psi in, and measure pressure loss over time.
Any leak shows pressure loss that drastically reduces MPG.
There is a thread on here with instructions for making/testing. -
Get off the cruse control!!!!!! Keep your boost down!!!!
I lose 1 mpg ON the cruse. It's harder to get across the county this way but even on the slightest upgrade the cruse pulls full boost even if it's only like a 100 yard hill.blairandgretchen Thanks this. -
3.47, maybe you mean 3.42. Either way, not a bad ratio, run at maybe 67-68 mph?
-
And if you DO tune ECM, insist on maximum lag, or 'droop' - when on the cruise, the ECM will wait for speed drop before kicking in power.
They removed the lag on mine, and it is far too aggressive - thus more time on the foot in hills. -
CAC=Charge Air Cooler
