I was considering both of these companies amongst many others when I switched jobs in the spring. I went with my gut and chose Cargo, been there since May and I'm happy with them. Cargo offered me better cpm and a nicely furnished truck (Bose seat, free XM, fridge, TV, APU), their trailers are in better shape too. Watkins seems like a decent outfit, just wasn't quite what I was looking for. If you have any questions about Cargo, feel free to ask.

Have you also considered Wiseway from Wisconsin? They pull lots of furniture from the Hickory area like Cargo and Watkins do, they were my 2nd choice after Cargo. Also consider Epes from Greensboro and G&P from Columbia, SC. Both have a pretty good reputation. Best of luck!

Only teams get west coast runs. Since most solo guys go home on the weekends, solo drivers go no further west than Texas. Frankly, I'm perfectly fine with not carrying chains & traversing Wyoming in the dead of winter.

I'd love to get into one of those T&T's pulling double fuel tankers in NV @Chinatown

Watkins is still operating fairly independent of Schneider, they just get to use our terminals for parking. Their drivers are still getting paid on practical miles, but they did lose a bit of freedom on fuel stops.

Most likely not but I'd love to drive out there one day. Have taken cross country trips in my car through NV. Great state.
