Yep. It's all about knowing WHEN to go to those generally bad areas. 2 months ago you would be looking at 500 miles dh to a crap load. This week? Not too bad. I'd have run it.

Trucking Jobs in 30 seconds
Every month 400 people find a job with the help of TruckersReport.

So i called couple companies today to see about doing a trade in on my Truck. $7,000 is what they will give as a Whole sale? Ill just keep it for now
-
Maybe in a year you can use it for half the down payment on a new truck. I'll prolly do that with mine.
-
Yea Basically i would be spending over 30,000 for a new truck. For that i can get a New transmission and a rebuilt engine for that
I've been thinking of buying a cheap truck with a 12.7 or a N14 and start working on it slowly. I wanna find out how much a paint job would cost and all that
-
My guess on paint is 4 to 6k.

I had a truck for many years; I used to joke that, every time I put tires on it, that I doubled the value of the truck. I also said that my truck was worth every dollar that a new one was.
Both statements were true.Airborne, Highway Sailor, 1951 ford and 3 others Thank this. -
A good quality cheap solid color(think volvo or freightliner white) is about 2500 at a small independent shop. If you want an expensive paint with metallic flakes or two tone you can easily double that.
The difference in the cost of the paint can be huge depending on what you want.TruckerPete1990 and 77fib77 Thank this. -
This is very very accurate. Mine might not be a pretty pete, but fur almost 15 years she had run strong and only let me down once due to a bad injector. Everything else has been either minor one hour jobs in a parking lot (an alternator, couple starters)scheduled maintenance, or something a shop screwed up and i had to fix again. My favorite is when i git the clutch changed out at 750k and the idiot cross threaded the cooler lines causing a leak which burnt the tranny up. Limped it home from Tennessee missing 3rd and 8th great and grinding like heck the whole way. Git the load delivered and slapped a new transmission in it myself over the weekend. That was also the very last time i let anyone touch my truck or trailer. Being lazy and not wanting to do the clutch myself cost me several grand.CJndaTruck, TruckerPete1990, Orange713 and 1 other person Thank this. -
If I tried to change my tranny over a weekend I would end up with a new rear end and a F150 motor in my truck. Let's just say there is a reason I have found a dependable shop. LOL
@Razorwyr you would have been proud of me this last weekend. Out in my trailer with sanders, drills and all working (and completing) on a little wood project. I can't get on you for having a power sander in your truck anymore.Airborne Thanks this. -
Hey, it comes in handy. Even works good for when that rookie scuffs your paint in the truck stop....if you don't go to jail for killing him firstCJndaTruck Thanks this.
