The reason they get away with it is because companies pay it.

 

why would you pay them? pull it off your self then bill the shipper for your labor or work it in for your own rate , they most likely know what they typical pay for the lumpers. we are the fools that drive a truck and away from home at the end of the day and they make $100 for 5 min worth of work.

It's the lumper service.. guys probably make $10-12 a. Hour lol.. those crap companies are making a killing

I hate it when they pay them more than they pay me to deliver it..

 

I'm only asking cuz I don't know. You can't get any #### from anyone if you unload yourself can you? Like the company that you drive for they're not going to pink slip you because you didn't use lumpers and you did it yourself I'm sure you take some heat from the lumpers and the other guys on the docks and again I'm just asking for my own personal curiosity. being the newbie that I am I haven't started rolling yet. Thanks in advance for the info

 

Most place allow you to unload some may require you to use s old pump hand jack get fired for being more product vs waiting on a lumper ? I guess anything possiable but I doubt that would happen

 

Pretty much all will require steel toe boots to unload though so always keep a pair in the truck

 

Sysco St. Paul MN 365 bucks for 12 skids pay it if you want your bills .. government should look into unpaid taxes at these places that make you pay the part time employee's wage in cash
