That sounds perfect. I want to get into trucking but I am a night person.

How much experience do they require before they consider applicants and do they hire people from Virginia?

I've been emailing a recruiter and they do not.

They require 1+ years experience OTR, no tickets, no DUIs, etc. They have very strict policies. Also no employment gaps longer than 2 months within a year. I've read of them firing people for the same things as well. They don't give warnings for breaking the law, being in preventable accidents, etc. Regional is home every weekend for 48 hours. OTR is every other weekend for 72 hours home time, which is very nice. And because they run OTR in zones like Regional, I'm sure they have a high rate of getting people on home. If you live on the east coast, you will probably never be west of the Mississippi.

    dennisroc Thanks this.

It wasn't a bad gig when I was there. Decent pay and all. The thing I couldn't handle was the second shift running. Hard to find parking and then sleeping during the day with that opti idle garbage made life miserable.

Give them a shot. I don't think a two month gap is good but if you have a valid documented reason it shouldn't be a problem. It's a hurdle for sure, but if it's the only hurdle it's ok. Throw in a ticket or accident or CSA points or bad DAC report or some combination and it becomes a no go. They have high standards at Barr Nunn.

I liked it while I was there.

sure it changed a lot since I was there in 04 went from making 28 cpm to 35 cpm and taking home $600 less a month. not to mention they shorted miles back then and I even talked to Bob a couple times about it but had to leave after 4 months couldn't afford to drive for him. do they still have Pella doors and windows. I notice they lost a few of the accounts they had back then like jc penny future..
