IMG_1395.JPG I finally put my 10-k antenna on after threading new co-ax to the back, bolting it onto the side of the headache rack.

Not happy with the mounting position, and I discovered today metal fatigue got the best of it, snapping off the whip.

This antenna worked great on our old Cascadia company truck.

Any really good solution for a T2000 for antenna/ mounting? I'm back to the 4ft whips either side of the cab.

To top things off - I took the radio to 'Hillbilly' at the J in Joplin, he used to be my neighbor, though I never had him work on a radio. I don't think he did much at all.

Any good techs in the Joplin - Mt.Vernon area?

Last guy to tune it was Hardwire when he was in Amarillo - maybe 4 years ago. I recall him saying the pots were getting worn and might be time to consider a new radio.

I'm a bit of a dummy when it comes to radios, I just need to have one doing flatbed, and I still think they're a good safety feature. IMG_1394.JPG

surprized ya got any real rand with ant mounted there..Its 3/4 surrounded so signal doesnt get out as well as it could..
1st off get a new whip(10k's are module and totally rebuildable),2nd l would mount in same area but mount ant on whats called an outback to get the ant out more into the wind stream and open up its range some..3rd i would raise it up as much as you can till your into the 13'4"ish range.. I can't believe that 10K worked at all mounted like that...SWR was probably threw the roof!

Of all the places I have seen people mount CB Antenna's, and then wonder "Why they aren't getting out", that has to rank right at the top of the worst places I've seen one mounted...lol

Hard drive is down in Las Cruces now. He has a bracket for the T2000 he recommends for a single antenna.
I have my own solution for that truck which involves two different brackets outside the rear fairings using 4 antennas.

45 miles consistently requires doing it my way. Nobody from coast to coast could believe how well my 387 Pete talked.
    Nobody came close.
    (Same as T2000)
