Pete when you file insurance claim don't forget downtime for getting it fixed. I got 1 day downtime when i got hit in February .
So this morning I made a phone call to the highway Patrol. I was trying to find a rule on mounting a 50 gallon tank on the truck for Gas. the highway Patrol asked another Sgt and they both looked into it. turns out I can do this long as the tank is rated for Gas.
As often as you get hit on the road i would not put a gas tank outside the frame rail. Lots of people burnt up when the gas tank was on the outside of the frame of pickups. Go with a small 15 gallon that you can mount up safely. if you wanna carry more, put another back on the trailer and use a cheap transfer pump and can to refill it.
Lol good point. the place I ordered my box from does gas tanks. could get a custom tank to fit on my catwalk area
https://power.cummins.com/content/rv-qd-6000 Pete, why not look at an RV genset such as this one or similar? All you would need is the bracket. This one is diesel fueled and designed for vehicle use. Frank
Im willing to bet that it cost around 6,000 too Edit: From googleing that it ranges upwards of 7,500.00-8,500.00 lol
