Maybe some of these will work:
Trimac Transportation - solo drivers in their Elite Fleet make over $100K, don't know what teams make and they do run teams.
Saia LTL Freight
Estes Express
Mountain Valley Express
Wildwood Express - produce
Old Dominion Freight Line - linehaul teams can make from $150K - $225K
You from Chattanooga? -
Thank you
We we're going to move there but all our family is in California so we're just going to stay since their getting older. -
Check out the local Craigslist Ads in your area, under Jobs and then under Transportation.

I'm from Nashville area, but moved to Nevada. Good luck on the job search.

Depends on what area you guys will be in socal.
IE (inland empire) has the most trucking jobs since land is cheapest and most companies have their yards out there.
Mountain valley express pays low, i wouldnt consider them.
I had good luck with road dog drivers, theyre a temp agency but can probably hook you up with a good team job, there office is in rancho cucamonga.
For solo local gigs out here, beer and soda pay crap. Food service pays a lot but super crappy schedule and its extreme manual labor
In orange county they have states express, ltl company that pays decent
Abf is in la county, off 605 and azusa or something like that.
Reddeway always has ads out here, dunno how they pay but my gut feeling is not much
Saia has a yard in la mirada (la/oc border) -
If you look at Craigslist there are jobs hauling containers from the ports, most look to be 1099, which I am not a fan of. I know at one time Schneider had a bunch of day cabs picking up containers in Long Beach and hauling them out to the BNSF Intermodel yard.

Have you and your husband considered MBM Customized Food Service Distribution they may have a team run for you or Performance Food Group you would be out 1-2 days and come back in. MBM does a lot of Carl's Jr out in your neck of the woods. Performance Food Group Customized does Outback Steak House and places like that.
