First of all the drivers in a lease purchse are not running ANYTHING!!! Understand that basic principal.

First off they have absolutely no rights to the truck or what gets done to the truck. Why....because it's not theirs!

Second....they don't really choose their own loads. The loads are chosen for them. It's a predetermined list that is fed to the driver. Basically it's an illusion of control to induce the driver into thinking he is actually making a business decision.

Third.....he/she is a company driver that the trucking company takes advantage of for tax purposes and also to have an additional revenue stream from the driver.

However you are correct in one thing......they know nothing of business. If they did they would never ever do an LP through a carrier or a carrier owned dealer.

PS. Remmember what I said in my other post. The carrier will allow a small number to make it through the LP. This is done because of the carriers design....not the driver. Like my analogy of a carnival game......let the others see a few win so 200 other suckers will come and play.

There are good and bad deals out there. Be a company driver until you detemine they are an honest company. Read the contract. Talk to the successful LP drivers that now own their truck free and clear and choose to continue hauling for the company. Run it as a business. Stay focused on finishing the lease and purchase portions. Getting clear title is your goal. Don't let a bad load or a bad week break your spirit. It's not day but you can do it.
Don't listen to all the drivers on here that failed. Read their posts and learn from their mistakes.
