Now starting to work on some issues around the temp gauges not working. When they replaced the detroit engine with a small cam cummins, they did not bother to hook up all of the temp gauges. I need to locate the following -
1. Location of the oil temp sender on a small cam engine.
2. Location of the main trans temp sender - Eaton Fuller 13 speed
3. Location of the aux trans temp sender - Eaton Fuller 13 speed
4. For a factory pyro meter, will any aftermarket pyro sender work? Does the cable have to be a certain length for it to measure correctly? The bung is after the turbo on the down pipe.
Already found the front and rear driver temp senders.

I played the same games with my T2000 - from a fleet guage package to an O/O package. A little more annoying as the gauges are all electrical in the cluster, but found the harness supported the rear axles (which you found), the main trans temp (mine is EF13 and I found it on the passenger side, midway up.
If you mean N14 as in 'small cam Cummins', can't recall if it was the oil pressure or oil temp that was drivers side toward the front.Hogleg Thanks this. -
Only one temp sender on the 13 speed. On the bottom. Look for a/1/8 pipe plug if the old sending unit is not there.
The pyro sending unit will have a two wire harness with round eyehole connectors that should attach to the truck harness with a small screw and nut for each wire.
For the engine oil temp sensor, I will have t think about that and thinking is very painfull these days. I'm guessing the cam side of the engine toward the back in the area of the rear cam follower. Look for 1/8" pipe plug if the old sending unit is not visable -
If it is a "Small Cam Cummins", that is a very old engine, but regardless, the principles are the same. Look for a plug at the rear of the oil pan(or front, if it is a set back axle truck- wherever the deepest part of the pan is) The oil temp probe will need to be submerged in oil to work properly.. The 13 speed- one send unit is normally on pass. side of trans, almost at the bottom, but the plug will be on the side.. The pyrometer is electric, the wire length will not matter on that, but make sure you Thermocoupler is not broke(the piece that screws in to the exhaust pipe right behind the Turbo.. Hope this helps, Tim
