Get an old milk crate, it's what most people do.

No it won't work. The previous owner of one of the trucks I bought a while ago tried it and he said it held up for a few days and then tools started to drop. He left it there for me to clean up, so it came out and into the trash.

Any magnet strong enough to hold tools in a truck over a long period is one of three things....

    1. You won't be able to afford it

    2. You won't be able to pull the tool off the magnet

    3. You will be driving down the road and everything magnetic will be attached to you.

those crates never get picked up, i doubt that they will miss one. a single crate that is repurposed will be replaced by thousands of new ones.

Stainless steel doesn't hold a magnet all that well either

Or what if you change the polarity of all your tools? Then you can hang them anywhere and everywhere!

I would add a decent flat head screwdriver to that list. I use mine most often for prying pallet chunks out of the channels in the reefer floor, but it's also excellent for prying open stuck filler caps and replacing gladhand seals. Otherwise your list of useful tools mirrors mine.
