Yeah you could blow positive, but people do drink the stuff. I once saw an 'addiction' show about an alcoholic woman whose drink of choice was mouthwash. Crazy; but the stuff is about 30 proof.NavigatorWife Thanks this.

"I was gonna brush my teeth, but then I remembered my grandpa & great grandpa. They brushed their teeth & now they're gone."Snailexpress, Blackshack46, cnsper and 2 others Thank this.

Similar logic is applicable to wiping your ###.

I have heard it is a new trend for college kids to do the bottoms up thing where someone will insert a long funnel they picked up at a truckstop into their rear end and pour hard liquor. The person gets instantly drunk with no hangover next daySnailexpress Thanks this.

Stop. This is a myth. You will not blow positive from rinsing with mouthwash in the morning. It's not illegal to have mouthwash in your truck. Even if you did blow positive, you get re tested in 15 minutes (this is a requirement under
DOT regulations) and if it was truly just a rinse after brushing- you're fine.
Now, if you're slamming the stuff (why anyone would do this I have no idea since there's MUCH better and much CHEAPER ways to get lit up) than I suppose it could be an issue but any alcohol from a morning rinse is gone very quickly -
There was an episode on NCIS where someone drank nyquil during the day for their cold and got popped for a DUI
NavigatorWife and 207nomad Thank this. -
I had a Gunnery Sergeant in boot camp that would drink Listerine. He was a confirmed alcoholic and this is how he got his buzz.
He was drinking the stuff for years and nobody knew.
Would you be busted for carrying a pint of the stuff. Doubt it. I made the decision years ago not to take the chance and only use non-alcoholic rinse.NavigatorWife and scottied67 Thank this. -
Yes if you're being tested it's probably no issue. Unless it is. You would have to be tested in the morning or whenever you start up. If you were tested you could wait for the retest, etc. Why not use mouthwash without alcohol or make sure you have enough time? And yes, people do drink mouthwash. Why give DOT a reason to look and or think about your cab?

Alcohol free mouthwash is available for sale...I wouldn't chance it with anything else. It's too risky.
NavigatorWife Thanks this.
