There's going to be a lot of people not make it to the holidays this season given the timing of these significant storms coming mid-December. If many do make it, they'll be in a rental car and maybe with sprained and broken wrists and a big story to tell over the dinner table.
stayinback, Big Don and TROOPER to TRUCKER Thank this. -

Came through here 6:30 to 7:30 AM. Knew I would be hearing about a wreck at some point. 10 degrees, snowing, windy and drivers going 70+ MPH. I was rolling at 45 which was on the fast side with cars and trucks passing me like I was standing still. Even had a placarded truck fly by me on one of the high bridges in this section. Had one driver hassle me on the CB for going 45. "It's just a little snow" he said. No spray coming off any tires.....people that shine on the road is NOT water. Was barely down I-99 when I heard 80 was shut down behind me. Just don't get driver's thought process coming over these hills in bad weather.Badmon, bzinger, KillingTime and 3 others Thank this.

It's so good to be out in the Southwest LOL

I thought the same thing shiny no spray. I was stuck in the backup for approximately 3.5 hours on my way into work in my pickup, pa state police told me I could loop back up shoulder if I wanted to said" I was only 1/2 mile back from all the bumper cars"

Ran from Scranton to Columbus, OH yesterday. It was not fun. Saw some off the carnage in that accident along with the still smoldering KLLM truck at mm 4.

Snailexpress, Ruthless and Lepton1 Thank this. -
Dodged a bullet.
I had a delivery in Albany NY on Friday. Went up through Scranton via Binghamton.
I suspected there was ice on the ground near the NY border but once I turned the corner in Binghamton onto 88 I ran right into a squal.
There was a pack of vehicles bunched up ahead of me finally overtook them by Oneonta. I feel safer by myself than surrounded by others with a car going 20 under in front of me and a guy tailgating my six.Dave_in_AZ Thanks this. -
I just got home and watched several video's of all the pile ups today.
Quite the mess.
Hope everyone makes it ok.
Saw some WTF back ups in bad conditions. No fun.
