Was it Schneider being a large carrier with a large freight base, or money, dedicated? Lots of companies out there that start out with better pay, and trucks with APU, and inverters. Or is it Schneider has a good safety record?

None of the above. Schneider offered a percentage o/o program relatively easy to get into with low capital. Besides which, when i joined Schneider i hadn't heard of anyone who drove for them that hated Schneider and still drove.

I no longer work for them, but I went there for the decent pay package and consistent home time offering on the account I was on. I'm not driving anymore, but if I were to go back, it wouldn't be to Schneider. To sum it up, too much BS at the pumpkin with not enough to show for it!

Also consider that megas have a high advertising budget and can appeal to more people. And if they train students, that's even more people that will come flocking in.

I love Fanta. Also oranges. Pumpkins are great too.
    Just made sense. :)
Just kidding. There's enough folks there that are perfectly happy.

Good reputation and they just seemed better at taking on new tanker drivers. The recruiter had all the answers and they made sense. Pay package wasn't terrible and I figured it was a good place to start. Turned out to be a good decision.

When I was in driving school Schneider had the most professional recruiter. Swifts recruiter was some Ellen Degeneres lesbian lookalike that spent 30 minutes talking about what type of felons they can and can't hire. Werner was the sleaziest of used car salesman you'd ever deal with. Roehl was ok but dealing with the in office recruiter was like pulling teeth.

Paid cdl schooling with no money deducted from pay to cover the school and no ridiculous amount of time spent teaming with another driver. Just to name a few.

After speaking with several drivers, both company and ic, recruiter and a couple other people in GB, all backing up SNI's "You are the captain of your ship" stance, that sealed the deal for me.

Every company I have dealt with gives lip service to safety, except for SNI. While a driver should be able to handle some weather, they should also be able to shut down without fear of reprisal if the conditions warrant.

The captain of your ship thing IS true but I just learned from a TE That's been at Schneider for a very long time they hold it against company drivers during their evaluations.
