12,500 12,500 12,500 12,500 jeez 12,500 is LEGAL. yes 80k is gross, but that 500lbs is your fudge factor to get drives legal on a grossed out load.
Let it ride?

I would run it as is, Not sliding anything. By the time you roll across a scale you will be under 12k on steers.

I just remember at my previous reefer job, I left the 5th wheel where it was when I got the truck. I ran it there for about 6 months. Then I decided to move it up the final 2 notches to move more weight to the steers because I was under 12k while at 34k on drives. Those 2 notches bumped my fuel up by right at 0.2 MPG. This .2 was noticeable in the short term, and held long term, too.Last edited: Dec 27, 2016

12.5 is legal. I drove everywhere with a KW studio sleeper over 12k on steers when heavily loaded. Can't get it under unless lightly loaded and that was with a spread axle trailer. In others words your legal.

I may have missed something so I see the flatbed training is done?
-
I looked and looked, what's wrong with those weights?Cops won't say anything with only a few pounds over. But if you still have the same trailer the next time youre near your terminal you should see about having a mechanic fix those tandems so they slide.RedRover Thanks this.

Are u running flatbed or van?

They told me securement wasn't happening until after the Christmas holiday, so I said stack me with miles or send me home. Almost 3000 miles later, I have 10 hours and some change to deliver this load 450 something miles away and get to a decent truck stop or terminal and I'm gonna be sitting for a 34. Any weather or traffic issues and they will need to repower the load or just wait for it. Apparently I am the one supposed to be making the appt. Didn't really read the dispatch closely enough. When I deliver, I'm red tagging this POS trailer though. Be ###### if they try to send me for another live van load.
Can't wait to start pulling trailers that I can sweep by driving fast down the highway lolpattyj and TROOPER to TRUCKER Thank this. -
NOTHING wrong with that weight. You are legal.RedRover Thanks this.

Your steer tires are good for 6175 pounds each for a total of 12,350. Axle is probably rated at least 12,500 or even 13,000.
Too many by the book safety managers think 12,000 is the max but it isn't. 12,350 is usually going to be your magic number unless you have 34,000 and 34,000 then of course to be in at 80,000 the max would be 12,000.RollingRecaps, Toomanybikes and RedRover Thank this.
