We just spent a week at RL company hotel in Daytona Beach Fl. Employees get to stay free. Rooms were very nice and clean. You are right on the beach. I've gotta say, that's a pretty nice perk R&L has for its employees. I looked at them really hard when I was job hunting a few years ago, but the nearest service center to me was a little too far away to justify the drive every day.

Just curious as I was offered a team job here but what are the bad things about the job? It seems they're always full on team drivers one week then hiring the next week..just wondering why some drivers don't like the job.

One team that I talked to that quit after a couple months did not like the waiting at the terminal. They were out of Chicago. They had a set run to meet an Atlanta driver in Tennessee. They were being held up each night at Chicago and late getting out. So each day the Atlanta driver came their direction. When you do that theyvadjust your pay to where you switch at. The terminal manager also did not make it clear how the pay worked. Your down time is included in your run pay. So if you sit 3 4 5 6 hrs waiting that is included in your per run pay. It wasnt explained well at the interview. Also they had an older truck that we finally got updated to newer ones. Luckily we dont sit much. But today for instance we got stuck in a backup because a truck overturned with poison on in west memphis. We were there 3 hrs before the state police backed us up 1 mile to turn around. I had to break down and move both trailers. We get no extra pay. Also our Dallas driver came 70 miles our way so our pay will be lower for that run. The other night we sat for 3 hrs at our home terminal because of a computer shutdown. No pay except our normal run pay. Hope this explains why some teams don't like it here. Make sure your terminal manager calls payroll at the interview like we did. And make sure they are quoting the team rate per run.

Dont know if you will be terminal to terminal or have a meet point daily run. The pay would depend on distance.

I don't know how teams are doing out of east coast but guys Ive come across out of Wilmington to meet a Dallas are grossing 100k each. They are going 700 miles each every day hard running. Another team that does Wilmington to San Antonio TX are doing just as well. They put about 7000 miles in 5 days also. How far is it from CT to Wilmington? Our run is 580 each way and we are grossing 1837 each and have another raise in September.
