There used to be a one lane bridge here.It was HWY 105 then.Dad told me he passed a dump truck on it and he was in a log truck lost one mirror. But it was a single axle gas burner with pole trailer. Before it was replaced a 4 wheeler and a skate board with load of plywood met on it.Well driver took out the side rails and one section fell.Wish I had photos it looked like the one in this post just one lane floor was 2x4s or 2x6s turned on edge with pavement on them. Its FM 787 now between Rye and Clevland TX.

You shouldn't have been sneaking around the Charleston scales!
-
I allways thought that was the fun part of truckin
-
I wasn't sneaking. I was right out in the open where they could see me. Besides, a truck driver wouldn't do something like that, would he?
-
No we wouldnt do something like that
Unless we was in a truckstop and driving certn CO.trucks then we would be sneaky

Anyone been over the Huey P Long bridge on US90 between New Orleans and Houma, LA? I went over it in a Greyhound bus, and I almost sucked all of the padding out of the seat. It's so narrow, that you almost can't see the guardrails in a Suburban, and you can't see them at all in a tall truck.
4 lanes with a train track in the middle, built in the 1930's, over the Mississippi. Gives me the gibblies just thinking about it. -
I bobtailed over the McKinley Toll bridge many times in the 1970s. Driving on railroad tracks made me nervous, but trains may have stopped using the bridge by then.

After bobtailing over McKinley Bridge, I took a nice four-lane to R-W Service System's Granite City terminal. The bridge in this link was closed at that time. This is in Double L's back yard.
