Will Schneider send a driver home at orientation because of sleep apnea - or even possible sleep apnea? If so, is there is there a certain number of days that they want to see verified in which a driver has been using a CPAP machine before orientation and will not be sent home? I contacted recruiting and could not get answers to these questions. Thank you.

No carrier will sent you home for sleep apnea.

There are several posts on this website in which drivers from various companies state they have been sent home during the physical portion of orientation due to apnea or suspected apnea.

Schneider has their own sleep apnea testing I hear. So they test their own drives and set them up with CPAP machine if needed. If you just got on CPAP like a week ago. Then your sleep doctor would usually want to see a couple week usage before signing off saying the CPAP is working. They have Wake Means Test sleep doctor do to verify the sleep apnea is fix. It like 4 hour test and you have to sit or lay down and rest like 40 minutes then you have 30 minute break and the watch to see if you fall asleep while sitting.

If Schneider doctors think you have sleep apnea during the D. O.T physical and you never been tested then I guess they would send you to their own sleep testing. Then it just a question of who is paying for it. Prime Inc will test new hires but make drivers pay back the money for CPAP machine if they have to get one. So they don't send drivers home or refuse to hire them. They set them up and driver has to pay for the CPAP machine. I think Schneider was paying for everything for their current drives. Not sure how the handle new drivers

A modern CPAP machine has wireless data reporting. So Schneider could see if the machine is fixing the sleep apnea and if drivers is using the machine vs a sleep doctor may not, and wants to see 30 days of use and he has to download the data from the CPAP machine, before he would sign off say it's working

Yes they test, yes they'll help if needed.
They'd only send you home if you refused test or help.

At my recent DOT physical, they wanted 90 days. I have the machine issued to my by SNI six years ago, and it has a readable chip, but is not wifi compatible.
