That is what I am doing. I live in FL, work for a company out of ND. Several of my next perspective employers have already said they would either bus me from Fargo to their orientation OR reimburse the amount of the bus ticket if I fly and pay for it. I'll eat the difference between the plane and bus ticket simply because I refuse to ride a bus ever again. Did it 3 times with a previous company, never never never again.

You quit, return the truck and don't expect to be paid.

do what these pros say, butt......i would also get ahold of local media, the ones that investigate companies see if they would help. if you meet them, wear your worst clothes, a few kids with dirty faces and pour out a sad song. drivers need to do something to bring it to the public. jmo. good luck

This infuriates me! If the OP doesn't return the truck, b/c he knows he won't get paid for wages he is owed, the owner will report him which will hamper his ability to get another job. But if he drives across the country, returns the truck and doesn't get paid as expected what are his options?

Sue? In small claims court you don't need a lawyer but since he calls FLA home and lives all over the country it would cost him more in lost time with court continuances. And they'll be many of those. Hire a lawyer? Most likely it'll cost more money than he is owed.

Don't tell employer you are quitting, find a new job get paid for as much as he owes you or as much as you can get and drop off tractor. He can report you didn't give any notice but you'll already have a new job and by the time you need another one he might be out of business.

Who do you work for in ND? Just wondering if its same company I'm with, and if so, why you aren't happy. I'm with Britton Transport in Grand Forks

I was only concerned that I wouldn't be paid for the load I take to CA & I would need that for a car rental because I don't travel light.. Didn't want to get 'stiffed' & pay for a rental. Lesson learned: don't work so far from home..
