2930 miles for the week. I have to say these guys keep you rolling. I've actually had to do a reset here at the yard. Already have a load waiting on me here back to North Carolina. I should be back Saturday evening for my Superbowl party on Sunday.
Vic Firth, Lonesome and Swedish Chef Thank this. -
Sounds like things are working out for you here. Happy to hear it. How often do you get home time here in NC?
-
I see their drivers in Phoenix sometimes ..The trucks are always nice and clean
Did they fly you to Minnesota ?
Are all their trucks automatics/automated ? -
-
Yeah they flew me from Beacon down in Nashville up to orientation. I don't think that utilize buses here. If you're afraid to fly they put you on a train. All trucks are automatics as are most companies going to eventually due to the fuel mileage. I spoke with the owner today for about an hour and a half just sitting in the driver's Lounge. He was telling me all the plans he has for the company and things he wants to add. He has big plans. However he does not plan to increase the size of the fleet. He likes the size of around a 110 trucks because the drivers stay rolling in the revenue is good. He even asked me what was the thing I liked least about the company. I simply said I think the Qualcomm's really needed to be updated with newer versions and we really need the ones that have a keyboard attached. He promised me that when he updated them we would indeed get one's with keyboards. Very down-to-earth guy. WalKS in the driver's lounge and speaks to everybody. Wares sweatshirts and blue jeans. He also said I would be getting a new Freightliner this coming summer. Very laid-back atmosphere. Easy to talk to. And most of all they have the miles.
gpf87 Thanks this. -
They get me home every other weekend. It's no problem because we run a lot of freight out of North Carolina South Carolina as well as Georgia. The owner told me just today we just signed a major contract to haul Freight out of Atlanta Georgia two Amarillo Texas. Most trips go south and back to Minnesota. Very little Northeast. Almost none. Lots of freight going to Texas and Oklahoma. You can also run a few California loads here and there. Your dispatcher will ask if you would like to run a California load sometimes. They leave it up to you as we are not forced dispatch. We also don't do a lot of hiring. The recruiter told me we average hiring two drivers per month. People tend to stay for a while so we don't get a lot of turnover being a small company.Swedish Chef and gpf87 Thank this.
