Bye California

Most of the red states get more from the fed than they pay in, so withholding would hurt them financially. California, Texas, New York, and a few other states pay in to the Fed more than they get back, so for Cali it would be financially a better deal than they have today.

 

i always thought we should've supplied everyone with shovels and let them dig california off from the us with hopes it would fall in the ocean. let them be their own. see how long it takes someone else to attack them without the us military to protect them. if it's such a great place and all, it would take no time eh.

 

Even if it were to become reality and Cali seceded, we the USA would never let CA be invaded by another country, if only to protect our own best interests. The USA and North America as a whole is protected by the two largest natural barriers on the planet, the Pacific and Atlantic oceans, allowing a foreign country(any not already recognized internationally as the current legitimate governing body) to occupy any portion of the continent is unacceptable.
