I do understand notarps4me-- at the same time people need to right the wrongs they have done. Maverick is a good company it's just messed up that even in 30 yrs I will still not be able to work for them. People do things as a teen and grow from their mistakes- I frown on anyone or company that will not give a person a second chance. I can understand the DUI thing because I dont want to drive next to a drunk man pulling 80,000 lbs-- but if its been a while like 5 years or more they give them another chance-- but possession of drugs 16 yrs ago and they still say no!! that makes it hard on a person to have faith in the system

all I hear is bad things about covenant. Before i started and while i was in training. Lets get this on the right track, i am not a company man, give me more money and im there. Covanent is not the best place to work and its not the worse either. I just finished my training and i got #### near 6500 miles a week. and if you have haz-mat they will run your ### off. when you break down- they are johnny on the spot. my pay has not been missing or anything. maybe all this stuff was going on a while back, at this time all i can say is they are doing there thing and im happy with them. the pay could be better, i think that company is a stepping stone if you need the time before you can go somewhere else. i will say this-- they are more team friendly!!!
they will keep you moving as a team-- solo will have to wait for the load before a team will, and if you have haz-mat--- you are never sitting. -
One would have to wonder, why is it only these truckload outfits with dismal reputations hire ex felons and dui/drug problems? Do they truly belive in giving their fellow man a second chance?? Or are they looking for someone they can abuse like a coolie and dont have anywhere else to go....I would like to think they had an altruistic interest in hiring these guys. But experience tells me something else.

Agreed Meat999.. This holier than thou crud has got to stop. People do make mistakes. Some people learn and grow from them. This people need not be shunned by people with a holier than thou complex. Everyone deserves a chance at a decent life.

I have no doubt you paid your debt to society, and its sad that something that happend a lifetime ago isnt allowed to RIP.My problem was more about the only choices you have as an ex-offender,are the outfits that have high turnovers. After 4or5 years of clean living YOU should have the same options anyone else does! if you read my post as an insult to you I am sorry.

good pay? yeah, as team trainer/trainee, i met some teams that get squat miles, less than some solos i have met, you are new here, just wait.
if you have a -dm- like mine, get ready to apply for welfare.
you got miles and money for being with a trainer, just wait.
i will be here just a little longer i hope, and then will never utter this companies name again with my mouth.
also don't get a service failure, they will hook that on you for a year, lie and cheat on your logs if you have to...but get it there. -
no answer from "meat999", more than possibly a company plant, because reality and his version are not the same..........
i hope to hear from him once he's out alone here...........
reality bites, thats fo'sure. -
I've been running for Covenant for about 4 months now..when I first started with them for the 1st 3 weeks I averaged sitting 3-4 days a week. Yes, 3-4 days per week, and no, I wasnt making squat for a check. But things have picked up, I get home when I want, get offered more frieght then I can haul and things are pretty good right now. Are they the best co. I've every drove for? No. They need more dispatchers cause right now they are waaaayy understaffed. They have like 1 dispatcher for every 50 or so drivers. But I run the loads I'm given, even if I dont want to run them, I get my miles in and I'm doing pretty good. I do have crappy weeks, but thats with every company. Everyone has a bad week. But your experience with a company is what you make of it. I know some drivers here that dont get squat for miles. I know a team that often runs less miles than I do per week (no they arent happy), but I get my miles and my $$$ so I cant really complain.
