Nothing but White's for me. Started wearing them in 1980. This pair has been rebuilt twice. I alternate between two pair and use Obenauf's boot oil, although not as religiously as I used to. I think that I have had about 10 pair since I started wearing them. They are expensive and take some time to break in, but after that they are wonderful - you wouldn't want to just put a new pair on and start driving. The best way that I have found to break them in is to get them soaking wet, put them on, and wear until dry. I think their website shows a boot cut in half to show how they are made. They are made in Spokane WA, and they will custom make a last for folks that have problems with stock sizes.

There are other similar bootmakers like Nick's and Buffalo that make excellent boots as well, but I am loyal to White's. Boots.jpg

You get your boots rebuilt and you've still gone through ten pairs in 37 years? I've had sub 200 dollar boots last me three years before....

Those boots have "swagger" written all over them. No mistaking you for the flip flop #### ups.

I'm not easy on them! And I have three pairs now, one steel toe and two non-steel toe.

I started wearing flip flops when around water,;swimming the coast and so on, later I walked around the house with socks on started to wear flip floos with socks then to cover a lost toe nail when I went out for something, it does allow feet to breathe.

I don't use flip flops anymore

The problem I have with leather boots is the wear near the ball of the foot, they start to crack with use then rip away from the soul, tried repair once but it didn't last long, nailled heals have peeled off, repairs help as long as some tlc happens afterwards. the shoe isn't the same. I probably expect to much.

Quality pays for itself. Spend the extra money. I average about 4 years a pair.
Got 5 years out of a pair I bought at Wal-Mart, they don't carry that brand or model anymore.
