Had a close call on 84 a week and a half ago going thru Oregon. Trace amount of snow fell plus 20 degree temperatures led to a little slippery action on road while going around a curve near a cement plant. Mind you,the curve was rated at 60 mph and I was only going 50 mph,my truck weighed 76,000 pounds with full fuel tanks and a full reefer tank and brand new drive tires on all 8 drives and I could feel the truck wanting to jackknife!!

The hippies won't let em use salt in Oregon. They do use cinders on the hills though. And they leave the chain law up longer than necessary so trucks will break up the ice.

    BUMBACLADWAR Thanks this.

LOL, may not be such a bad idea! Who needs to have roads to drive on, anyway?;)

I use the same philosophy in my driveway. Haven't touched a snow shovel since moving out of my parents home. If I have to shovel in order to get in or out, it's time to buy a bigger truck.

passingthru69 and Big Don Thank this.
