If you're delivering there, don't show up before 4am. ###wipe rentacops will run you off from anywhere in the neighbourhood. They don't care if you're out of hours.

Trump can help the truckers is he's made aware of it. Maybe www.OOIDA.com will come to the rescue. They have the horsepower to get his attention.
-
I would hold my breath on thrump hope I'm wrong but the uber president is one of his advisors the same one that owns the Otto truck and want to replace you and me
Grouch and TheFriscoKid Thank this. -
Good, that means there are plenty of assets to go after the first time Otto hurts someone.
-
This is good to know. I send a lot of trucks to this DC in the season. Thanks!

So, when you leave California, you need to leave at such a time to arrive at Salisbury Food Lion at precisely 1 hour before your appointment but not before 04:00. You should predict traffic and weather and travel time down to the minute. If you can't do that you should not be a truck driver

I hate that part of trucking dealing with appointment at virtually every load and unload ... having to manage your time PRECISELY towards the end of the trip.
- Don't give yourself too much grace period
- Don't drag your feet too much
- Don't stage too far out
- Don't expect your preferred spot to be available, have plan B and maybe C
- Always anticipate exact traffic and weather issues that will occur
- Always anticipate exact traffic and weather issues that will not occur
- Always know the exact length of the line leading into the gate and the speed at which the guards and check-in clerks will work that day
MagnumaMoose, ReeferRick, Brickwall and 1 other person Thank this. -
Pretty much. And the sad part is they have a huge staging lot where you bring your paperwork to the Lumper Nazi before you even get to the gate but from what I understand they got tired of drivers pissing and leaving trash. There's a little booth where the lumpers take your paperwork (and your money...lots of it) and then tell you to wait in your truck till they call you. Come 5 am there's a long line at the booth and if it's cold or rainy, you'd better be dressed warm. Once you finally get backed into a door they they make you unhook and pull your tractor forward. Last time I was there they left an extra load lock on my trailer which I didn't realize till I got washed out. So watch your locks & straps there. (or anywhere)laaylor Thanks this.
-
I was forever banned from shipping because of the fact that the last time I did not stop near the gate to open the trailer doors for verification.
-
wouldn't breaking the seal on the door cause the receiver not to take your load?
-
Probably on the way out?
