Actually the hourly pay was always a little lower, but the hours were regular, weekends, two 2 week vacations off & holidays. Now the hours are just below OTR but the pay is a lot less than OTR. I would make more per week TRAINING with Jim Palmer Trucking than my regular pay. I'm looking at OTR again to make more & break the monotony.

I have as many years ahead of me to reach retirement age as I have been where I'm at.

That often depends on one's home life too. For some, their home life is more stressful than the job could ever be.

Good Lord, no wonder you're burnt out. I could never live like timing things down to the minute. I don't know how anyone can tolerate that for long.

True but too much work without time off isn't good either. There has to be a happy medium somewhere.

I beat burnout by retiring. I use to get 6 weeks a year vacation and always could take a week off when I felt it coming on.
