I get paid $1000 (salary) per week for 5.5 days of regional driving. I average 2200 miles (or less) per week. Home every weekend for a minimum 34 hr reset, but avg 40 hours.
I don't touch freight. I drive a dry van, no hazmat, a good mix of drop-hook, live loads and live unloads every week... and waiting for my next load... a lot of that actually.
Anyone know of a company that guarantees a better salary AND gives a full 48 hours at home every weekend?
Salary over $1000 per week guaranteed?

Have you read any of the stuff on these threads here and what the drivers talk about, wait times, miles, money, home time, all around HUGE headaches? You better stay where your at if you ask me it sounds like you have a pretty good gig. A lot of folks on here are happy and a lot aren't but you could get yourself into a mess trying to find something better than what you have which sounds decent. A lot of drivers on here would give anything to have what you are doing, especially for the money and set schedule.Last edited: Mar 3, 2017
Thull, AM14, Just passing by and 8 others Thank this. -
I hear Smith Transport out of Roaring Springs PA get there drivers home every week for a full 48hrs depending on where you live.
Outdoorsman Thanks this. -
Yeah, I know... but I like to keep an open mind and open eyes...
Maybe there is a company that can do better - but I doubt it.Crusader66 Thanks this. -
Sorry there @Outdoorsman, I edited while you were replying to me, didn't mean to mess you up.

Good luck to you though, there is always that pot at the end of the rainbow, you just have to look harder than anybody else willing to go to the trouble.Outdoorsman Thanks this.

Is that before or after taxes? If you bring home $1,000 then I'd suggest you stay where you are.VdotFoxx, passingthru69 and Crusader66 Thank this.

Sorry - that's gross.
But since you mentioned it (this is a pet-peeve of mine, so I appologize in advance... please excuse the following rant)... I'll never understand why anyone (drivers in particular) refer to wages as anything other than gross!? When has any employer, in any field, or any job anywhere in the US ever said your pay is take home!?
So... since it is gross and not take home... and even though I grossed $55k last year (claiming $36k due to per diem)... you don't think it's a good deal? Hmmm...
Got something better for a company driver guaranteed?
I'd love to hear about it!?!Last edited: Mar 3, 2017
metallifreak10 and Bakari742 Thank this. -
There's several companies that have guaranteed minimum over a thousand a week, but not with every weekend home.
paul_4lp, Crusader66, Bakari742 and 1 other person Thank this. -
That's why I'm asking, and what I'm finding... one or the other but not both.paul_4lp, Crusader66 and Bakari742 Thank this.
