You are welcome, no prob, bro!! Kinda made ME RETHINK some stuff I forgot, LoL~! Seriously...as long as you KNOW your stuff with a "generic" T/T .... it's just a bit of adaptation. It's all I had when I went to FedEx/LineHaul. I'd driven for USX and Transport America, and got the opportunity to double my income (which I pretty much DID!) and the knowledge I had from the "basic" van gigs........ was all I needed! Let us know, bro... pm @Mike2633 or @Bob Dobalina if you get in a bad way; one or the other is usually on; they both do linehaul / LTL~!

Get a good night's sleep, and roll with it. Make sure you keep track of your gladhands, ALL BOTH SETS.... and keep the slack "if any" tied up..... that's what they told me in '03~!

That video makes things look alot easier than they actually are. Backing a con behind a trailer takes a ton of patience and practice. I would not recommend you trying this unless you have quite a bit of experience. Those cons will spin on you and it is super easy to pinch an airline if you are not careful.

Bob Dobalina and Mike2633 Thank this.

Yeah you only get a few feet with those. When ever I hook up, our con-gear is usually right on it and only has a couple of feet to go before it's hooked to the second trailer.

If one is proficient with the typical T/T setup... ie: experience, He should be okay..
YES you are correct, RR. I read a lot of your posts and know you've had some #### to deal with in the industry.. and I'm sorry. I'm nobody special, not blessed anymore than all y'alls.
Agree with me on this; if you can back a '53 van in a dock in NJ, granted, the CONS wanna get away from you and it IS totally different, but if one can maintain and follow, what's the difference?
And I remembered to mention the extra set of glads.
It's worth a try with a bit of aforementioned experience.
It's how I learned with about 10 years of NOT COUNTING Class A experience.....and had to go BACK to TD school @Roadmasters to go to FedEx/LineHaul, and NOBODY taught me a thing...til the day I got there.
Show me once, shrink me twice.
Best to you as well, man. It's only as hard as you make it. If you know your rig, or ANY for that matter.....the lead and follow vary..... true. It's worth a shot to the O/P i believe.

Make sure your trailer sits lower than the top of the fifth wheel of your con. You will high hitch your back trailer. Digging through my personal pics, I photographed an XPO (CWF) guy high hitching his set. See below.

Check the king pin on the last pic. Way in front of his fifth wheel

^^^ WoW... yep..... that was effed good. It's similar to hooking a van, but twice.... 2x hands, 2x hookups. 2x TUG tests.
    GREAT example. Agreed.
Same #### can happen to vans and reefers, and then there are a-holes that wanna pull your pins.... all of them. PRE-TRIPS and POSTS are doubly important...just saying.

The worst that will happen is they won't hire you. You go, and slap that #### together. Pretend you know what you're doing. Be friendly and look like you know what you're doing.

The best part is, is that if the set isn't pinned together properly, it'll probably fall apart in the yard before it even makes it out onto the road!

    That's the upside, true.

If he can hook a single, he just has to do it twice, for the most part~!

Charles Dickens? Shakespeare??? "best of times/worst of times" "A fool thinks himself to be wise, but a wise man Knows himself to be a fool."

One way to avoid that is to just let them free wheel.
